Tomoshibi Live (the "Site") provides live listening translation, audio-file transcription and translation, and two-person video calls with Chinese and Japanese subtitles. Supporting features include AI summaries, read-aloud and voice cloning. Microphone listening translation displays subtitles in real time; file transcription provides results after processing completes. Third-party AI services perform recognition, translation, summarization and speech synthesis. The Site provides accounts, quotas, call connection coordination, archives and the interface.
The operator enables access to call creation. Invited participants can join with a room link or room number without registering a Site account. There is currently no publicly offered paid call plan. The listening translation hour packs sold by the Site apply only to listening translation and do not include calls.
2. Accounts
Listening translation and account features use Google sign-in. The first sign-in requires an invitation code issued by the operator. Invited call participants do not need to create a Site account.
An account is for your personal use only. It may not be lent, shared or resold.
The operator may set per-account quotas such as daily time, number of starts and number of summaries, may disable accounts that violate these terms, and may require an account to sign in again on all devices.
Users under 18 need a guardian's consent to use the Site.
3. Rules of use
Record only audio you are entitled to record. In classrooms, meetings, lectures and similar settings, follow the laws of your country or region and the rules of your institution, and obtain the speaker's consent in advance where required. You are solely responsible for any consequences of unauthorized recording.
For voice cloning, upload only voice samples of yourself or of a person who has explicitly consented.
Do not use the Site for illegal, infringing, harassing or fraudulent purposes, and do not attempt to circumvent quotas, attack or reverse-engineer the Site.
4. Fees and time
Prepaid hour packs: the Site charges by recording time. You can buy a pack of hours in the settings panel; payment is processed by Stripe, and the hours are added to your account balance as soon as the payment succeeds. Purchased hours never expire.
Free time: the operator may grant certain accounts a daily free allowance, and may give new accounts a one-time trial. Accounts with free time use it first; anything beyond it is deducted from the balance. Free time resets daily; the balance does not.
How time is measured: by the time actually spent on speech recognition. While in use, time is deducted every 15 seconds. Up to 10 minutes are reserved when you start recording, and any unused part is returned automatically. When both free time and balance are used up, you cannot start a new recording.
Prices and refunds: current prices, payment methods and refund conditions are on the commercial disclosure page. The operator may change prices and the packs offered; changes are announced on this page or the purchase screen and do not affect hours already purchased.
Estimated amounts shown on the page are a rough estimate of service cost based on recognition time, not an invoice.
5. Your data
Local listening subtitles, session records, summary history and settings are stored in your own browser. Records stored only on your device cannot be restored from the server after switching devices or clearing browser data.
Call recordings, subtitles and typed messages are stored on the server and can be viewed by people with a valid room link. File transcription results are also stored temporarily on the server. See the Privacy Policy for access, retention and deletion details.
The server also stores account information, usage records, purchase records and uploaded voice samples. Summary, recognition and voice-cloning features send the relevant content to service providers for processing. See the Privacy Policy for the data flows.
6. Disclaimer
Recognition, translation and summaries are generated by machines and may contain errors, omissions or mistranslations. They are not professional advice of any kind (legal, medical, academic or otherwise); verify anything important yourself.
The Site is provided "as is" and may be interrupted by maintenance, third-party service failures or force majeure. The operator is not liable for resulting losses unless they are caused by the operator's intent or gross negligence.
Except in cases of the operator's intent or gross negligence, the operator's liability is limited to the amount you paid the operator in the month in which the problem occurred.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Site at any time and ask the operator to delete your account data. Accounts that violate these terms may be disabled; remaining hours on a disabled account are not refunded.
8. Changes and contact
